President's Message

I had a very enjoyable time at our meeting at the Central Coast Brewery last week.  Our host Mark has been a great supporter of our club during our last two golf days so it was nice to be able to give our thanks to him in a more tangible way.  I also have to thank George for cooking the BBQ  and Debbie Carroll for providing the salads and drinks.

I attended the Central Coast Cluster meeting at Avoca last Friday evening at which we, along with Woy Woy, were congratulated  for taking up the opportunity to hold the movie night in aid of the end polio now campaign.

The Entrance Rotary Club has begun the initiative of providing Treat Boxes for our troops serving overseas.  These would consist of little special and luxury items that they would not normally get such as chocolate biscuits, confectionary, quality toiletry items etc.  It would be nice if we could support them by providing some of these items.  I am suggesting that everyone might bring such an item over the next couple of meetings that we can pass on to The Entrance.

We were also reminded of the Rotary Foundation Dinner on 9th November.  If anyone is interested in attending see our Foundation Chair Ken for more information.

On 11th December the Rotary Clubs of The Entrance and Wyong Tuggerah are holding a carols night at Camp Breakaway.  We have been invited so if anyone would like to attend please let me know.

We were mentioned in Federal Parliament by Karen McNamara last week.  You may be interested in watching the video of her speech.  We are mentioned towards the end so if you would like to see it click here.

Finally we have an important meeting this week with guest speaker PDG Tony Castley telling us about the Rotary Foundation.  It would be good to see a big roll up.

 Until next time

Yours in Rotary

Jenny Abourizk
