President's Message

Last week Past President Bruce Thompson and I had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for  $10,500.00 to McDonald's Family Room at Gosford Hospital.  This was their share of the proceeds from our recent Golf Day.

Yesterday we had a very successful launch of our community raffle.  The McDonald's Family Room at Gosford Hospital was the first charity to take advantage of this initiative and we ran it during their annual McHappy Day.  Tickets were sold at McDonald's locations from Swansea to Tuggerah.  I would like to thank Steve Edmunds, Roshni Sinha and Ken Smith for giving up their time to help in selling tickets.  An amazing $760.00 worth of tickets were sold on the day.

Now that the raffle is underway I hope to see more of the organisations and charities we support taking advantage of this great opportunity.

Karen McNamara, our federal member for Dobell, saw our raffle in action and was so impressed with the concept that she has undertaken to actively support and publicise it.  At her suggestion we are preparing an article to be included in her Newsletter to constituents. She has also said she will be mentioning it on the floor  of Parliament.

We have two very exciting and different meetings coming up in the next two weeks.

Next week we have a night at the movies to support the End Polio Now campaign.  If you haven't already booked, get in quick, time is running out.

Next week we are off to the Central Coast Brewery for an exclusive look at its operations, do some tasting and enjoy one of George's barbecues.

See you at the movies

Yours in Rotary
