President's Message

Back home after the trip of a lifetime.  George and I had a wonderful adventure that has left us with so many memories and experiences to look back on.  But now we must move on with the work of Rotary

The launch of our monster raffle will take place at Lakehaven McDonalds on Saturday 17th October as part of the annual McDonalds McHappy Day promotion.  I am looking for volunteers to help sell tickets on the day.  If you can spare some time please let me know.  It is always a fun day with so much happening I am sure you would have a good time. During this day I will be visiting other McDonals outlets on the cost selling tickets and promoting the raffle.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our meeting on Wednesday.  Debbie Carroll has organised a great speaker for this meeting so make it a point of attending.  I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I can't finish without thanking President Elect Steve Edmunds for filling in for me so capably. Thanks Steve.

 Until next time

Yours in Rotary

Jenny Abourizk

Charity Movie Night

Wednesday 21st October

*Please book your tickets ASAP.  Only two weeks away and all seats must be pre-booked*

Join us for a great night in support of this important project.  There is more reason to celebrate now that Nigeria has been declared polio free and that only 36 cases of polio have been reported world wide so far this year. However we can't rest and the fight must continue until this scourge is beaten permanently.

All profits raised will support the End Polio Now campaign and every dollar raised will be matched 2 for 1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation so it really is an opportunity to make a difference.
