President's message

Well what a great day our Golf Day was.  The weather was perfect, the greens were in great condition  and all the golfers were in top form.  I cannot express more how proud I am of our club as we should raise in excess of $20,000 with a number of auction items still under negotiation.

My thanks go to all the players and volunteers without whom the day would not have been the success it was.  Special thanks to the boys from Bailey Plumbing for cooking breakfast and to the Northern Power Cricket Club for the loan of the BBQ.

I know I will forget some, and please forgive me if I do, but I must mention a few people and organisations that made the day possible.  Our event partners Job Centre Australia and Servers Australia.  Kooindah Waters Golf and Spar Resort and Troon Golf for their support.  James Dickinson from Intrinsic Print for all the signage.  Mike Herniman of Arizona Smash Repairs and Celebrations at Toukley for balloons, prizes and auction items. Nicole Thomson from Family Chips for her extremely hard work and to Gavin Mcleod for giving her the time to do it. Kami Dibden of Ronald McDonald Family Room for her tireless  effort and Past President Peter McCloskey for keeping on top of the accounts.

It is so satisfying that the charity, Ronald McDonald Family Room at Gosford, the major beneficiary , put so much time and effort into the success of this event.

This will be my last message for a few weeks before George and I jet out on Wednesday.  During my absence I leave you in the very capable hands of President Elect Steve Edmunds. Thanks very much Steve.

Until my return in early October

Yours in Rotary

Jenny Abourizk

Cararoo Quarterly Report

April End School Year 2014-15

This was one of the most difficult school years we have uncounted since starting in 2006. In running a project like this working in the worst possible conditions, it is easy to become blasé and be taken advantage of. In recognizing this at the start of the 2014 school year we made a number of changes to the mothers group, the number of children attending the Cararoo nursery and also putting a number of children/parents on notice, that if attitude and grades did not improve the child would be terminated from Sponsorship program.
