President Message

Hello, Fellow Rotarians.

Namaste!.

"Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations."

It was my pleasure to welcome the most amazing group of students for our 20th Primary Citizenship Awards Night on Nov. 21st.  It was indeed an inspiration to find such a dedicated group of teachers acknowledging the students. It was well attended by over 265 students and parents, grandparents extended family,  teachers, and principals of  18 schools!

We thank all of you for your attendance and the Tuggerawong Public School Choir Performance brought to us by Brock Drazevich and Lea-Bella Foa' I- Auimatagi.

We thank our guests,  Hon. MP Emma McBride, AG Annona Pearce, Gavin Mcleod- Rotarian and  Sponsor for the event.

Our Rotarian,  Mr. Bruce Thompson has organized the Primary Awards for most of the last 20 years. Congratulations. His team of the recent past is Annette, Jan, Debbie, and Kylie making this possible. The teachers and principals of the schools play a major part for this evening to be a success.  We at Northlakes Toukley thank all of you involved this year.

We thank the Hali kitchen staff and Michael for their excellent service.  Paul,  the manager and his staff for organizing all the tables and making sure everything was in order, even providing helium for Rotary balloons. Rotarian Maurie wanted me to thank Paul for all the help with projector and banners.

Any event requires a team and our Rotary team of 21 members rise to the challenge every time!.

Over two hundred and sixty parents, teachers, Rotarians and students attended the latest Primary Citizenship Awards . RCNT INTERNATIONAL UPDATES:

Lets have a laugh

A U.S. Marine Colonel was about to start the morning briefing to his staff. While waiting for the coffee machine to finish brewing, the colonel decided to pose a question to all assembled.

He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep. He posed the question of just how much of sex was "work" and how much of it was "pleasure?"

A Major chimed in with 75%-25% in favor of work.

A Captain said it was 50%-50%.

A lieutenant responded with 25%-75% in favor of pleasure, depending upon his state of inebriation at the time.

There being no consensus, the colonel turned to the PFC who was in charge of making the coffee and asked for HIS opinion.

Without any hesitation, the young PFC responded, "Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure."

The colonel was surprised and, as you might guess, asked why?

"Well, sir, if there was any work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them."

The room fell silent.

God Bless the enlisted man.
