President's Message

Greetings

'Everyone has their own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein they cannot be replaced, nor can their life be repeated, thus, everyone's task is unique as their specific opportunity to implement it'. Viktor E. Frankl

Congratulations to Jan and Annette for planning and leading the Vocational Excellence Awards. The attendance of over ninety award recipients and their supporters was a good refection of the high esteem held for the recipients. There were remarkable stories about the women from the work force matched with heart warming accounts of the volunteers. Our community is privileged and blessed to have such people influencing others with the values of Rotary. Well done ladies

There are three more major events before the Rotary year has ended:

6 June 'State of Origin' at Maurie's home

13 June Community Raffle (Hali major sponsor) and Beneficiaries Night

20 June Rotary Changeover Night (location to be announced)

Regards & blessings

David Knight

President - 2017/18

This Week's Humour

News Flash: Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent..

A television weatherman was involved in an accident, and broke both his arms and both legs. He had to call in from hospital to explain about the four casts..

One day a man spotted a lamp by the roadside. He picked it up,rubbed it vigorously, and a genie appeared. "I'll grant you your fondest wish," the genie said. The man thought for a moment, then said, "I want a spectacular job -- a job that no man has ever succeeded at or has ever even dared try." "Poof!" said the genie. "You're a housewife.".
