The Rotary Foundation has been awarded a four star rating by the Charity Navigator for eight consecutive years.

Next Meeting 15th November 2017

Presentation by IRIS FOUNDATION.

Northlakes Toukley Rotary have supported Iris Foundation for many years and, with that in mind,  Iris would like the opportunity to present to our members an update on our current programs and initiatives aimed at early intervention for suicide prevention on the Central Coast.

Iris have also recently sponsored a national Suicide Prevention Australia Speakers Bureau workshop which trained 7 Central Coast locals with a “lived experience” of suicide to speak publicly about their experiences. (Suicide Prevention Australia defines ‘lived experience' as having experienced suicidal thoughts, survived a suicide attempt, cared for someone who has attempted suicide, been bereaved by suicide, or been touched by suicide in another way).

One of these speakers will join the presentation and share their personal story.

Given the current rate of suicide this is a must attend evening. We urge members to bring along family and friends.

This Week's Humour

May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.

An old Woman was asked,
"At your ripe age, what would you prefer
to get: Parkinsons or Alzheimers?"

The wise one answered, "Definitely Parkinsons --

Better to spill half my wine than to forget where I keep the bottle.
