President's Message

President Mitch is currently overseas. Asked that we mention what a great job Jan and Annette did with the Vocational Excellence and Pride of Workmanship Awards on 24th May, 2017 (see pictures and details below).

Congratulations to Maurie in receiving a Community Services Award at Philippine Embassy Canberra for his work in the Philippines. (see below).

We also have a very busy June, leading up to Changeover Dinner on 28th June. Please lets see if we can attend and support as many of the events as possible.

It is important that we get all sold and unsold Community Raffle tickets to Jenny NO later than 7th June 2017.

Philippines Embassy Canberra

A proud day for Rotarian Maurie Schokman who received a Community Services Award at the 70th Philippine - Australian Friendship Day held at Philippine Embassy in Canberra. The award is in recognition for the work Maurie has been involved in since 1997 in the area of education for the poorest of the poor squatter families living in Manila. In thanking the  Ambassador  for the award Maurie emphasized that this work could not be possible without the the help & support of Rotary Australian Worldwide Community Services (RAWCS) and how Rotary plays an important role in supporting projects like this. 


Her Excellency Minda Calaguian-Cruz Philippines Ambassador to Australia presented a total of 18 awards covering (a) Defense and Security Cooperation (b) Economic Diplomacy (c) Cultural Diplomacy (d) Community Services

DV Response Enhancement Project - 

The Rondeley Program

The Rondeley ‘Domestic Violence Response Enhancement’ Project has been extremely busy providing intensive support and accommodation to women and children escaping DV. In this very short time, over 290 women and children have reached out to Coast Shelter and the Rondeley Program for help and assistance due to DV. The Rondeley Program was able to respond rapidly in every case, providing immediate moral and practical support with the option of safe accommodation.
