President's Message

This week our normal dinner meeting is replaced by a Board meeting – 6.30pm start in the Board Room at Halekulani Bowling Club.

Next week – Wednesday 25th our special guest speaker is Cooper Jitts  from Talk Agency. Cooper has a background in marketing & digital advertising and will provide members with a fascinating in-site into how Google & Face Book profile each of us in order to maximise their marketing dollar.

To maintain this calibre of speaker in the future, I urge all members to make an effort to join your fellow Rotarians on the 25th ---  why not consider bringing  along a business acquaintance who may be considering an interest  in digital marketing.

The YMCA’s Breakfast Club

It was a great pleasure to accept the invitation of the staff and volunteers of the YMCA breakfast club at Lakehaven and see first hand the great work that they do.

BREAKFAST Club at the YMCA's Lake Haven Recreation Centre is growing.

The program offers local school students a free breakfast four mornings a week.

Students, mostly from Gorokan High School, mingle at the centre and enjoy choices from a menu including bacon and eggs, supplied once a month by our own George from Meat at Georges, toast, cereals, breakfast muffins, hot chocolate and juice.

This program once again demonstrates the the selfless work done by so many in our community without any fanfare

Pictured above are staff and volunteers of the Breakfast club with some of our own members.

Guest Speaker

Cooper Jitts

 Managing Director – TALK Agency

Cooper started his professional life via Griffith University in Queensland. Graduating with a Bachelor of Communications – Media Communications, he went on to work as an account executive at Prupel Media – a small, out of home media agency on the Central Coast.

Feeling the call to Sydney Cooper moved into a dedicated journalism role at Express Media Group – Australia’s largest niche publisher. Over a brief three-year period Cooper worked his way up the reporting chain into the role of general manager – commercial, trucks and caravans. Running a large team of journalists, advertising managers, designers and editors across some of Australia’s most fabled industry mastheads, he was exposed to the transition of Australia’s media landscape from print to digital, and learnt first hand how the two can co-exist.

Cooper left Express Media Group to establish a marketing communications firm from scratch. TALK Agency sits at the cross section between advertising, art, technology and business consulting, and has a list of clients including Chemist Outlet, Healthe Care Private Hospitals, Gosford City Motor Group, Blue Sky Home Solutions, Community Care Services Central Coast and a range of other organisations across healthcare, retail and not for profit.

In his spare time Cooper enjoys turning his phone, tablet, computer and any other digital device in the house off to enjoy the great outdoors.
