President's Message

Unfortunately I was unable to attend our first Visit to Industry  event last week . On all accounts,  I hear it was an absolutely  fabulous night being a visit to Meat at  George’s and a culinary lesson into the finer points of sausage making.  Is there any truth in the rumour the BBQ and impromptu street party that followed ran fowl of Council ordinances as Rotary had not applied for a ‘permit” to have fun.

This week’s dinner meeting will be equally rewarding with a guest speaker from School for Life – Children’s Education if Africa. We will also be celebrating Rotary International’s 110th Birthday

A reminder  the Board is still seeking  recommendations  from club members for disbursement of 2014/15 Charity Funds  that will specifically  benefit local community groups.

Last Week

Last week we had one of the most interesting, informative and entertaining meetings we have had in some time.

Hosts George and Jenny Abourizk made everyone welcome to Meat at Georges, East Toukley.  After a welcoming drink and fellowship we all went out to the footpath where George had been busily barbecuing some of his famous flavoured sausages , chicken and ribs. Following the magnificent BBQ we went inside for a tour of the shop and then proceeded to the sausage making area.  Beer and beef sausages were on the menu.  With the expert help of some of the club members we learned how to mince, mix, fill and link the sausages.

Thanks George for a great night.  Your enthusiasm and passion for your work is truly an inspiration.

See more pictures of the night.

Foundation Money Box

How is your money box going?

So far we have four new Centurians that have saved their $100 with at least one more on the way.  Let's see if we can have a few more before the end of this Rotary year.
