President's Message

What a wonderful meeting we had last week at Camp Breakaway.  It was a pleasure to welcome special guests Terry Hayes, the General Manager and Gary Blaschke the Chairperson of Camp Breakaway, Trish Williams a Director of Halekulani Bowling Club, and Wayne, Ian and Sue from Wyong Tuggerah as well as so many of our own members and their guests.

I would especially like to thank Debbie Carroll for supplying and preparing the salads and all the accompaniments and George Abourizk for supplying and cooking the barbecue. Great work fellows.

As well as a night of good fellowship the main purpose for our meeting at Camp Breakaway was to present a cheque for $2,600 to them.  The presentation was done by Trish from Halekulani  as it consisted of Camp Breakaway's share of the proceeds from our recent Cabaret plus a donation from our Rotary Club.  Both Terry and Gary thanked everyone for their support.

Our race day is this Thursday and I know that many of our members are going along.  For this reason ,and because there is also a Board meeting this week, the decision has been taken to transfer this week's meeting to Thursday's race day.

Don't forget the movie night next week.  Should be a good movie for a good cause.  Get those bookings in.

Until next time

Yours in Rotary

Jenny Abourizk
