President's Message

Just Back from the District Conference and still recovering but what a great conference it was. District Governor Gina can be proud of the event and I most certainly gained an even greater insight into the wonderful work of Rotary worldwide and of our own District in particular.

All the speakers were inspiring and provided us with an insight into the diversity of Rotary Programs and of the huge difference Rotary makes to the lives and wellbeing of those less fortunate than ourselves.  I was personally greatly inspired by the Saturday night speaker and entertainer,  Brennon Dorwick,  Gold Medalist  in the Men's Artistic Pommel Horse Event at the 1990 Commonwealth Games , who had a wonderful message of doggedness and perseverance  to deliver.

I was especially proud of our own Jan Pryor who gave a moving and graphic account of her experiences during the Nepal earthquake. I would also like to thank Jan for her highly informative Club presentation on RAWCS last week.

If you would like to hear much more about this conference you will need to come along to this week's meeting where attendees Mitch Cowan, Jan Pryor, Annette D'Adam, Ken Smith and myself will provide more detail.  We may, with a little persuasion, even let you into some of the events of Saturday night.

Another reminder about our Race Day on 7th April.  Check further in this newsletter for a link to secure your tickets

Until next time

Yours in Rotary
